Alberta Driver To Contest ICAR Formula Tour F1600 Event

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Exclusive Autosport is pleased to announce that Alberta’s Parker Thompson will compete for the team in the Formula Tour 1600 Championship this weekend at Circuit ICAR in Quebec, 4th-5th July.

The 17-year-old from Red Deer will make his debut in F1600 competition running for Michael Duncalfe’s multiple-championship winning team – the official factory Spectrum squad in North America and back-to-back Formula Tour 1600 Champions, courtesy of Thomas McGregor (2013) and Tristan DeGrand (2014).

Thompson currently contests the USF2000 Championship full-time in the United States, where he sits fifth overall in the Driver Standings in his rookie season. His return north of the border is eagerly anticipated as he heads to Circuit ICAR, located at the Mirabel International Airport site north of Montreal, where the Formula Tour 1600 series forms part of the support package to the weekend’s top-billed NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.

We ran extremely well in our previous outing in Formula Tour 1600 at the Canadian Grand Prix last month, notably with Patrick Dussault’s Saturday victory.”

Exclusive Autosport will be in action on both sides of the border this weekend. In addition to running Parker Thompson at ICAR as a stand-alone entry, the team’s full-time 2015 campaign continues competing in the F1600 Formula F Championship, where they lead the title chase with Australia's Scott Andrews, and in the F2000 Championship Series at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, 4th-5th July, in the United States.
