Zandvoort, Netherlands – At Zandvoort this weekend in front of 31,000 spectators, Mercedes-AMG driver Pascal Wehrlein (gooix Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) finished the eighth race of the 2015 DTM season in sixth place. The winner of Saturday's race at the Norisring thus secured vital points in the DTM championship standings. After eight out of 18 races on the calendar, he is on 76 points, the same as Mattias Ekström (Audi), who is second in the standings. Both of them are five points behind the leader, Jamie Green (Audi).

Wehrlein's fellow Mercedes-AMG drivers Christian Vietoris (Original-Teile Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) and Gary Paffett (EURONICS Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) also finished the race in the Top Ten by coming home eighth and tenth respectively. With three Mercedes-AMG drivers in the Top Ten, Mercedes-Benz reduced the gap on Audi in the manufacturers' championship and extended their lead in the team standings.

Paul Di Resta (Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) and Maximilian Götz (Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) finished the second race this weekend in P14 and P16 respectively. Robert Wickens (SILBERPFEIL Energy Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) placed 19th and Lucas Auer (BWT Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) was 20th. Daniel Juncadella (PETRONAS Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) retired after a contact with another car.

The next race: The DTM heads from the North Sea coast to Spielberg in Austria for the fifth race weekend of the season, July 31st-August 2nd.

"That was a terrible race. I got hit by three Audi drivers in two laps. In my opinion, that simply shouldn't happen. It really was a weekend to forget. Many thanks to the team for their hard work this weekend."

"I'm reasonably happy with sixth place. Our speed was good, and I think we could possibly have got more out of this race. Unfortunately, my start was really poor. We've been having a lot of problems with the clutch this year, and once again today, it wasn't working properly. My pace was good until the scrap with Molina. The car was so badly damaged that I had to defend my position strongly at the end. I was afraid I was going to get a puncture. My steering was totally out, and I was missing several aerodynamic components. I was lucky to finish the race in that state."

"Eighth place is okay for me. Not much more was possible. I was behind Pascal for a long time. He was having some problems with his pace. My car felt good and my speed was good. I could have overtaken the BMW in front, but it was obvious that we had to leave the most points for Pascal to pick up. I'm reasonably happy, bearing that in mind."

"Obviously starting from P9 was always going to be difficult. The start wasn't great, but I didn't lose too much on the others. Then we had a pretty slow pit stop which lost us a lot of time. The pace of the car was good. I had some good battles and generally it was an enjoyable race, but I would have liked to finish further up."

"Obviously, we are not satisfied with today's result overall. Still, three Mercedes-Benz drivers in the Top Ten is not exactly bad. More should certainly have been possible, but at least we reduced the gap on Audi in the drivers' and manufacturers' championship, while extending our lead in the team standings."
