Welcome to Daytona ... The walkover bridge on crossing International Speedway Drive greets you directly in from of Daytona International Speedway. It is a "welcome sign" for us after a long drive south and it means the beginning of the racing season in North America with the TUDOR United Sports Car Series and the 52nd running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
This year, RaceCanada is settled in early as we have a lot of coverage planned over the next few days. This event is always a lot of non-stop action and one never seems to have enough time or enough hands to get everything done - but we will try our best.
Today there will be plenty of action as the TUDOR series cars hit the track for the first time sine the Roar before the 24 - with not much time to practice before a flurry of qualifying sessions this afternoon. The Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge series got some track time yesterday - as did Ferrari Challenge. But of course the big story today will be night practice for the Rolex 24 cars. There will be updates throughout the day via Facebook (www.facebook.com/RaceCanada.ca) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/RaceCanada_ca) and we hope you'll follow along with all the action. We will also get some photos online with galleries to follow at the end of the day.
We hope you enjoy the ride as RaceCanada welcomes you to Daytona and the Rolex24.
