Team Canada Scholarship program is proud to announce that Ontario native Michael Adams has been chosen to represent Canada at the Formula Ford Festival in October.

Before the 2015 season started, the young F1600 driver worked out a last minute funding deal to contest the Canadian F1600 Super Series. Michael's season started out extremely strong with a double win in his family run VanDiemen and then continued on with a strong run at the Montreal Grand Prix with top 5 results. Halfway through the season, Michael made a switch to run a current spec car and made the most of it, sweeping the final four events.

A highlight of his season came when he raced as a first time visitor at the GP3R in August. During the weekend, Michael proved to be a quick study and sealed the championship in a dominant fashion, a feat his father Stephen Adams had done some 24 years earlier. The former karting standout has two Toyo Tires F1600 Championships under his belt and continues to add to his win column.

"Michael has been on our radar for several seasons. I really do believe he is at the top of his game right now and it is his time to shine. We have watched him mature into not just a top competitor but a well respected driver among his peers. We are very pleased to have him represent Team Canada at the 2015 Formula Ford Festival held at Brands Hatch." comments Team Canada Scholarship founder Brian Graham.

Growing up just minutes down the road from Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, the third generation racer has been around the sport his whole life. The mechanical engineering student at Conestoga College has balanced his studies and racing and is making the most of his limited running over the last two season. He has shown that he can adapt to new tracks quickly and that will help him as he makes his first trip overseas to compete.

Now in its 5th year, the Team Canada Scholarship is a non-profit program that exists solely on support from individuals and companies who believe in showcasing young Canadian racers on a world stage. The British Formula Ford Festival is a favorite event for drivers from around the world. It is steeped in tradition and has a history like no other F1600 event. With several winners going on to Formula One, Indycar, and the top levels of Sportscar racing , it has a special place in the heart of racers from all corners of the world.
