Hong Kong – Canadian Maxx Ebenal will once again be competing in the Asian Formula Renault 2.0 Championship. 2016 will mark Maxx's 3rd season racing cars, and 2nd season in the new generation Formula Renault 2.0.

Maxx will race the AFR season with 2015 podium finishers S&D Motorsports based in Hong Kong and Malaysia. S&D team boss, Harry Chai, says "we had a last minute opening in our new car for the season. I was getting a lot of interest from other drivers, and when Maxx called me to tell me about his new sponsorships, I knew that Maxx would be a perfect fit in our team. Even though Maxx lacks the racing experience that other drivers have, we have watched him quickly progress over the last two years, and see that his strong reputation in Asia will be beneficial for our team long-term."

Joining Maxx this season as official partner will be the French, motorsport orientated watch designers, Bernard Richards Manufacture (B.R.M. Chronographes). Also, due to a prosperous partnership in 2015, Molecule Motorsport will again join Maxx with a specified target to increase product sales in Asia.

"Over the winter I was trying to find a drive for 2016 in my 'typical' fashion, by sending out random sponsor proposals. It only took me three years, but I have finally realized that I've been approaching sponsorships all wrong..." says Maxx while preparing for the upcoming race in Zhuhai, China March 19-20.

"I sat down and had a hard look at what I was doing, and where I was going. I've never had proper training or mentorship regarding the acquisition of sponsors. I've always had the attitude that as long as I work hard, things will fall in place, but that isn't true at all. Hard work is a major part of "it" (getting partnerships), but really being smart about how you approach them brings much more value and saves time."

"I was able to re-evaluate my position in Asia, and properly leverage the connections I have made since I arrived in China. The partnerships I have this year are key, and I have the ability to help brands grow in Asia through my racing program."
