Hohenstein-Ernstatthal – The first two days of the 2016 German Formula 4 championship second weekend have been much more positive than a few weeks ago for young Montréal born Kami Laliberté, driver of the Dutch Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR) team. With respectively a 5th and a 4th position in the free practice session and the qualifying that followed on Friday, the Canadian young hope has been entitled to start from the 9th position on the grid for the first of the three races of this weekend program. Later, Laliberté finally ended the race at this same 9th position.

‘’I really like the course with its long and fast corners. I had a treat yesterday and today. On the other, it’s quite tough on tires and even my team mates agree. We have to adjust in this area for tomorrow. Even considering this difficulty, I am quite confident for the coming day. In our series, Friday’s qualifying and Saturday’s race determine pretty much what would be your Sunday and your two last races. Since it has been going well this weekend, I really look forward to tomorrow’’, said the driver who will start from the 7 th place for the race disputed before lunch and 2nd in the afternoon for the 3rd and last race on the weekend program.

The 7th place grid position for the 2nd weekend race on Sunday morning has been awarded to Kami taking into account his second best time recorded during Friday’s qualifying. His position on the first row (2nd) for the 3rd and final race has for explanation the rule by which the first ten positions at the end of Saturday’s race are reversed to establish the five first rows. The grid for this last race of the weekend is always determined by the results of the Saturday’s race.

‘’Starting from the front row is a great challenge. I will have to manage well my race, as I did today even if I was further on the grid. But before in the morning race, I will have had another good position in order to earn a fine result. I plan on being mentally well prepared to have a real good day’’, concluded the number 35 car driver.

One must note that the Sachsenring German circuit is located in Saxony, in the town of Hohenstein-Ernstatthal. For Sunday May 1st, the meteorologist predicts a partly cloudy sky and a 16 C temperature over the area where the track is located. The first race is scheduled for 11:20 am (5:20 am ET), and the 2nd for 3:40 pm (9:40 am ET).
