Pau, France – Young Montréal-born driver Kami Laliberté had a very productive day, this Sunday on the street course of the Grand Prix de Pau, in the Southwest of France. The 16 years old driver earned a 6th place in the morning race and a 2nd place in the afternoon event. What particularly impress with the Canadian driver is the fact that he started the first race under the16051501b rain from the 10th place on the grid and the second one on a dry surface this time from the 6th place. Each time, Laliberté showed his skills as he chose to do spectacular overtakes at the ‘’Du Pont Oscar’’ corner, not renowned for being a great location for this type of manoeuvres. In full control, at time patient and sharper when needed on the 2.76 kilometre course, the Montreal concluded positively his weekend in France.

‘’ It was important to have a good result in the first race since it would determine my grid position for the second one. Even if it was raining, the knowledge I had of the course helped me at the start and later, when came time to overtake at the best place when the best occasion came. For the second race in the afternoon, it was finally quite pleasant to finally be able to race on this great track with a dry surface. I had again a very good start and I have been able to overtake again. It was great to fully enjoy this very special circuit, said the driver, happy and proud to climb on a podium for the first time this season. These results are encouraging, it’s the kind of boost needed for the upcoming races in German Formula 4 that are going to be my main focus from now.’’

One must remind that the German Formula 4 championship will hold its third round on June 3, 4 and 5 on the German track of the Lausitzring, in Klettwitz, located at the southeast of Berlin and near the Polish border. Currently 12th in the standings, Laliberté will again enter three races there.
