Prema Powerteam delivered another win at Spielberg’s Red Bull Ring in the third race of the FIA F.3 European Championship round held at the Austrian Venue. Lance Stroll scored a dominant victory by repeating his race 2 antics. The Canadian started from the pole and led the field from start to finish, crossing the line in control and increasing his championship lead over his major rivals. In the end, he collected a stunning 68 points.

Maximilian Gunther did a good job as well as he fought his way at the front end of the pack to capture a deserved third place finish. Ralf Aron and Nick Cassidy also scored points by finishing in ninth and tenth place respectively. The New Zealander had an under achieving weekend due to problems not depending on him.

# 1 - Lance Stroll

“Maybe from the outside it might have looked like an easy win, but it wasn’t. The mistakes are always around the corner but I kept focused and everything went well. The start was good but tricky, with all the contenders who tried to pressure me just behind my shoulders. The same goes for the re-start after the safety-car called during the opening lap. I successfully created a gap on Ilott and tried not to make mistakes. It’s been a fantastic weekend for me and I thank the team for having provided me with such a competitive car”.

# 2 - Nick Cassidy

“The third race of the weekend was hard-fought. I battled with some of my contenders. It was pretty exciting and I ended up tenth”.

# 16 - Ralf Aron

“After a disappointing race 2, it’s refreshing to be back to the points zone. I fought hard for the whole race and ninth place is OK. I’m looking forward to the next round at Norisring, a street course which is completely new for me”.

# 17 - Maximilian Gunther

“It has been an hard-fought race. I was starting seventh but made up two spots at the start and got two more positions back at the re-start after the safety-car. I caught Ilott and I tried to get close, but he was really fast so I just focused on keeping third place which is an excellent result considering my starting position. I’m leaving Red Bull Ring with a third place in standings and there are still a lot of races to go this season”.
