Elmvale, Ontario – This coming weekend Elmvale, ON’s Matt Garwood head’s to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for the Canadian Historic Grand Prix. This will also be the first round of the 2016 Challenge Cup Series Championship.

After a championship winning season in 2015, Garwood is set to start where he left off last year. Garwood is no stranger to competing at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, as the famed Ontario based track is one of Garwood’s favorites.

“This is gong to be a special weekend for not only myself but the Challenge Cup Series as a whole. With many American competitors making the trip we look to have increased competition and an extremely exciting three races on track.” enthused Garwood. “I’m sure the racing this weekend will be as equally competitive and entertaining for the fans.”

Garwood and team will return to the track Thursday June 16th at Canadian tire Motorsport Park for a day of testing in preparation for this weekends Canadian Historic Grand Prix. Qualifying and Racing will then begin Friday and continue through to Sunday afternoon.

Later this month Garwood and the Matt Garwood Racing Team will visit Mid Ohio Sports Car Course for the second round of the 2016 Challenge Cup Series Championship. It is sure to be a busy month for the team as they travel across the northern part of the United States in the hunt for the championship.
