Elmvale, Ontario – This coming weekend Elmvale, ON’s Matt Garwood is heading to Thompson Speedway Motorsport Park for round three of the FV Challenge Cup Series Championship.
After a strong performance at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Garwood looks to continue his success at the long and flowing Thompson Speedway Motorsport Park this coming weekend.
Tucked away in the beautiful countryside of Northeastern Connecticut, Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park (TSMP) is the home of a historic raceway and a classic 18-hole golf course. TSMP also hosts a number of annual NASCAR stock car and open wheel racing events, including the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and NASCAR Whelen All American Series on its historic 5/8 mile high banked oval.
“Thompson Speedway Motorsport Park will be a new challenge for myself but look forward to leaning the newly surfaced racetrack. I’m sure the racing this weekend will be extremely competitive and entertaining for the crew, drivers and fans.”
Garwood and team hit the 1.7 mile track track Thursday July 21stth, 2016 for a day of practice with racing set to begin Friday and to continue through to Saturday afternoon.
It is sure to be a busy summer for the Matt Garwood Racing team, traveling across the northern part of the United States and Ontario, Canada hunting for the 2016 Challenge Cup Series Championship and Millers Oils Formula 1200 race wins.
