Just one week after the team netted a win and 3 additional podiums at Shannonville Motorsports Park they headed to the Summer Classic at Le Circuit Mont Tremblant for the latest rounds of the Formula Tour 1600 Series. The team expanded to 3 Piper DL7/Quicksilver Honda's with the addition of Atlanta Georgia karter Dev Gore. A highly ranked karter in DD2, Gore made his first laps ever in a F1600 car on the promoter test day and it was obvious he would be fighting for top 10 results as the weekend began.

Rookie Roman De Angelis was coming off a stellar weekend at SMP where he outscored all competitors and enjoyed a triple podium weekend including a win. With every weekend he is getting stronger and showed his natural ability with a very hard fought win in some tough conditions. He then backed that up with two more podiums including runner up in the final. He now jumps to 3rd in the Championship at just 15 years old.

Sophomore Ben Hurst also enjoyed a productive weekend with 3 top 10 finishes and ran as high as 5th at some points. He moves up to 7th in the championship and is making himself a regular threat to get podiums as he grabbed a superb runner up spot just the week before at SMP.

Making his debut with BGR was 18 year old Dev Gore. He had a very impressive weekend outpacing many veterans and other rookies. He also scored 3 solid top 10 finishes and looks to build on his results and make more starts later in the season with the factory supported Piper Racecars team.

"It was a very successful weekend for BGR and Piper Racecars, states team Principal Brian Graham. Roman is gaining experience every weekend and won against a tough field in a head to head fight in tough conditions. He is now becoming a podium regular and we are very excited about his progress. Ben ran a solid weekend and was right in the mix the whole weekend. Dev did an outstanding job, it was his first time in the car and he beat all the other first timers handily and made some veterans have to fight pretty hard. He will be one to watch.

The team returned home Monday from Quebec and immediately got to work preparing for the next rounds of the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship. Sitting 2nd and 3rd in the standings, the BGR duo of De Angelis and Hurst will be looking to continue the streak of podiums at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park for the BARC Canadian Touring Trophy Races.

BGR Piper Racecars is the Canadian distributor for the ultra-successful California built Piper chassis. The factory supported team will contest the full Ontario and Quebec F1600 Championships and has seats still available for selected events. The all new Piper DL7 debuted with immediate success and grabbed its first win at CTMP winning the Al Craighead CanAm Cup. BGR has put more drivers in the winner’s circle than any other team in OFFC history and has an incredible run winning the Rookie of the Year 9 of the last 10 years. With an alumni list that boasts drivers who have gone on to Championships all over North America to several starters in the Indy 500, BGR is well known as the place to begin a career in open wheel racing.
