Zandvoort, The Netherlands – Quite like he had hinted in recent days, Montréal-born driver Kami Laliberté found early in the weekend how to tame the Zandvoort racecourse where the German Formula 4 series is currently running its penultimate season’s program. On the track located on the North Sea coast, west of Amsterdam, the young man experienced a first day truthful to his expectations, recording in qualifying lap times that would allow him to occupy the 6th place on the grid of the first two race scheduled for today.

Then, this morning in the first race, the driver had to cede two positions during the race and ended eight, collecting four precious points. Laliberté returned to the track at the end of the afternoon for the second race of the day and this time, managed to gain a position before returning to his starting position during the rest of the event, collecting an additional eight points.

‘’It went well yesterday during qualifying, our team was ready. But I would have like to be myself a little more quicker in order to have better starting position for today’s races. But, all considered, it was not bad. Concerning my two first races, since it is a course where it is very difficult to overtake, I consider that I had a decent day. This morning, I made a couple of mistakes that cost me two positions, but fortunately without any damages. This afternoon, I had a good start and gain a position early. But a car in front of me slowed down and I got caught behind, loosing that 5th place. I remained 6th until the end’’, said the young driver who is confident that Sunday morning, he can end his weekend on a good note. ‘’My car is fine and I will have a very good starting position tomorrow. I want to take advantage of the situation and have a very good finish.’’

The Canadian driver will return to the 4.307 km long Dutch circuit tomorrow for the third and final race of the weekend program. It is scheduled for 10:20 am local time (4:00 pm EDT). Because of its 8th place finish in the first race today, he will occupy the 3rd position on the second row of the grid; since the first ten positions at the end of today’s first race are reversed to establish a starting order.
