Expo Systems USA is backing James Vance and his efforts with Compass360 Racing in the 2014 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge.
Stouffville, Ontario - Nigel Vance-Lousada often marveled at the elaborate, polished setups in team garages and the paddock while watching Formula One races.
Vance-Lousada didn't forget those memories as he started to follow and support the racing career of his son, James Vance. Instead, he found and capitalized on a market ripe for business within North American motorsport for the same high-quality pit and garage layouts used by F1 teams - but at much more affordable costs.
ExpoSystems USA provides pit and garage solutions that give race teams a world-class look when working away from their race shops. The company's products create sleek, modern, customizable presentations that aid in creating a layout that promotes sponsors and team brands.
The company also has been a leader for more than 40 years in producing modular displays and trade show products, creating a one-stop shop for businesses involved in racing.
"Once I set up our state-of-the-art printing division, I decided that this was something we could offer to teams at a much more competitive rate than they were getting from other companies in Europe," Vance-Lousada said. "We also provided the added bonus that teams got a North American product and didn't have to pay huge shipping fees to get the pit garage solutions provided by ExpoSystems."
Vance-Lousada also has expanded his business through continued sponsorship of his son's racing career. ExpoSystems USA is found on James Vance's No. 74 Honda Civic Si fielded by Compass360 Racing in the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge and throughout the IMSA paddock this year. Working with his son as a sponsor has given Vance-Lousada a chance to form relationships and work with many race teams.
"Being James' sponsor has been a really gratifying experience for me," Vance-Lousada said. "Watching him all the way through karting, MX-5 Cup and now the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge. He is a very unique individual, very quick and a good all-around package. He has afforded me the opportunity to close a good amount of business. He also taught me the value of relationships with the people I have met while being involved with his racing."
Vance has grown up watching his father develop the business. Now he plays an instrumental role in the production and design of the Garage Solutions products created by his father's company.
"My dad has been helping me through racing since I have started," Vance said. "It's at the point now we have a product that can fit perfectly into the motorsports industry, so I want to try and get as much exposure possible for this awesome line of products. The product line itself is hard to come by anywhere else in North America. Most teams that want the garage enclosures more times than not have to go to Europe, so taking that massive step away, as well as the cost, for the North American teams, is a huge step we are hoping will help get the name out there."
Vance will continue to help his father with business development as he strives for a Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge championship during his rookie season. Vance's next race is Saturday, May 3 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, Calif.
