In an ever changing and challenging race in the streets of Paris, the TWR TECHEETAH team claimed its second podium of the year with Stefan Rzadzinski achieving a hard-earned second place.

The Canadian racer was on the pace from the start of the weekend, claiming P3 in Free Practice on Friday and replicating his strong performance in Qualifying to claim third place on Saturday’s grid.

Despite starting the race in the sunshine, the conditions quickly changed with high winds bringing rain and hail – which combined with the dirt and leaves on the track created slippery conditions.

Rzadzinski kept a cool head under the pressure and maintained his starting position as the rain fell. At crucial point in the race two competitors collided coming close to taking Stefan out, however he managed to back off and slipped down the inside at the end of the main straight advancing to P2.

Conditions continue to switch between sunshine and heavy rain. Bringing out the Safety Car on multiple occasions, the race was ultimately red flagged with just a couple of minutes left to run – securing the team’s and Rzadzinski’s second trophy in three races.

Keith Smout, TWR TECHEETAH Team Principal, said: “The team has worked so hard all season and we are now reaping the rewards for our efforts. This series is one of the most competitive in the world, with five different winners in the opening five rounds, so to have claimed our second podium in three races is a great result.”

“Stef did a fantastic job in difficult conditions and showed his pace from the very first session of the weekend. We’ll now look to continue this momentum in Monaco and into the climax of the season.”

Stefan Rzadzinski, TWR TECHEETAH driver, said: “With so many surface changes, and so much dirt and debris on the track, grip was the biggest challenge for the whole field this weekend. I was disappointed to see the red flag come out, as I was confident that I could challenge Brian for the lead, and with his mind on the Championship title I felt a win was possible today.”

“That said, second is a fantastic result for me and the team, and we’re now beginning to show just what a force we can be in this series. I’m looking forward to racing on the streets of Monaco in the next round and want to bring home my first eTROPHY win next time out.”

The Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY series, which is the official support category for FIA Formula E, will return for action on 11th May on the illustrious Monaco street circuit.
