Bowmanville, Ontario – Defending race champion American Colin Braun continued his impressive performance at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP), taking the pole position for Sunday’s Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix presented by Acura, the first of the season for the No. 54 CORE autosport Nissan DPi team.

In addition to their IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race win last year, Braun and co-driver Jon Bennett also have three previous wins at CTMP in the IMSA Prototype Challenge (2013, 2015 and 2016).

Zach Robichon (Mont. Tremblant, QC) qualified the all-Canadian Pfaff Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R fifth in the GTD class. He and co-driver Scott Hargrove (Vancouver) – both WeatherTech Championship rookies - will be looking to capitalize on their home track knowledge and local cheering section in an effort to score their first GTD class win Sunday.
