This week's Friday night race at Bristor marks the series debut on The CW network in the US.

For the most part, Canadian fans won't be affected by the NASCAR Xfinity Series move to The CW in the US as TSN 1-5 will still carry all the races, starting with this Friday's night race from Bristol, while TSN+ will continue to show the practice and qualifying sessions.

However, if you have relied on either Fox or NBC broadcasts on their normal, over the air stations, you still have some options.

If you still need an antenna to catch the stations, you will likely be out of luck if you are any where outside of southern Ontario, and even then only a few places are likely to have much success in bringing in CW stations with an antenna.

The best possibilities, from the information we could source, will be:

WNLO - Serving Buffalo–Niagara Falls, New York, Toronto–Niagara Falls, Ontario
Digital (UHF) 36
Virtual 23 or 23.1

WMYD - Detroit, Michigan (May be available in the Windsor/Sarnia/Chatham-Kent area)
Digital (UHF) 31
Virtual 20

WUAB - Cleveland (May be available in London, Ontario)
Digital (VHF) 10
Virtual 43

Two other over the air stations may be possible:
Watertown, NY - WWTI-TV - Digital 50.2 (Kingston area)
Toledo, Ohio - WTVG-DT - Digital 13.2 (Windsor area)

If you have cable or satellite, there are a few popular options that you may already have:

1) Peachtree TV (Atlanta)
2) WPIX (New York)
3) KTLA (Los Angeles)

These stations should be available through most major carriers.

It's unlikely any of these stations will carry anything in the way of practice or qualifying, although it looks like they will have a pre-race show called "NASCAR Countdown Live" so if you have highspeed internet, your best solution is still a TSN/TSN+ subscription. While still not perfect, there have been very few issues with TSN+ lately.

This is likely not a 100% comprehensive list, but all I could find at this point, if you know of any other stations, let us know in the comments, or on any of our social media posts.

I haven't relied on over-the-air TV in the digital TV age, so these are a couple of the definitions used to explain the station types, to help find them:

Digital
Digital terrestrial television (DTTV, DTT, or DTTB) is a technology for terrestrial television, in which television stations broadcast television content in a digital format. Digital terrestrial television is a major technological advancement over analog television, and has largely replaced analog television broadcasting, which was previously in common use since the middle of the 20th century.

Virtual
In most telecommunications organizations, a virtual channel is a method of remapping the program number as used in H.222 Program Association Tables and Program Mapping Tables to a channel number that can be entered as digits on a receiver's remote control.

Often, virtual channels are implemented in digital television to help users select channels easily and in general to ease the transition from analogue to digital broadcasting. Assigning virtual channels is most common where TV stations were colloquially named after the RF channel they were transmitting on ("Channel 6 Springfield"), as was common in North America during the analogue TV era. In other parts of the world, such as Europe, virtual channels are rarely used or needed, because TV stations there identify themselves by name, not by RF channel or callsign.

Kevin Lacroix is aiming for his sixth win of the season and a shot at the NASCAR Canada Series title in this weekend's season finale.
By: Innovation Auto Sport
September 18, 2024

Saint-Eustache, Quebec – Kevin Lacroix and NAPA Racing are gearing up for the NASCAR Canada season finale at Autodrome Montmagny. Lacroix currently sits second in the championship standings, trailing Marc-Antoine Camirand by 20 points. While winning the title at this stage isn’t impossible, it’s going to be a steep challenge.

For Lacroix to have a shot at the championship, Camirand would need to finish outside the Top 20. Although that scenario is unlikely, a race victory is well within reach. Securing his 6th win of the season would further solidify Lacroix’s position as the driver with the most victories in 2024.

“We did some testing at Montmagny a few weeks ago to make sure we’re fully prepared for Sunday,” said the driver of the #74 Quick Strut / NAPA Racing Dodge. “I really enjoy racing on the larger ovals, like this one. They’ve always been good to me.”

This will be a first for most drivers in the field, as the series has never competed on this track before. “I’m excited to have the season finale here in Quebec. I’m sure the grandstands will be packed with fans.”

In the last few races, Lacroix and the other top drivers have put on quite a show for the spectators, and the season finale promises to deliver more of the same. Everyone will be pushing hard to claim the first-ever win at this track.

“Since Delaware, the team has been working around the clock to get the car ready for the final race of the season. It’s going to be 250 intense laps, but we’re ready for it.”

The XPN 250 will be a two-day event, with practice and qualifying on Saturday, followed by the race on Sunday, September 22, at 1 PM. Fans can watch the race on the TSN+ app or FloRacing.com.

A strong podium for Ranger, but a difficult race for Camirand who scores 6th place. (Photo-Matthew Manor)

London, Ontario - Andrew Ranger scored a strong podium finish, on Sunday, as Paillé Course//Racing was at Delaware Speedway, near London, ON, for the penultimate event of the 2024 season of the NASCAR Canada series. Marc-Antoine Camirand earned a hard-fought sixth-place finish after struggling with a difficult car.

Andrew Ranger had a strong day on the half-mile oval track of Delaware Speedway and knew that he could have a good car for the 200-lap race.

“It took me some time to really master the track during practice, but then we scored a good qualifying lap, and started fourth. Right at the beginning of the race, I felt that my GM Paillé/Chevrolet Canada n°27 Camaro was very fast, and I have been able to climb to second place in the early laps. I felt like I had a very good car throughout the race,” said Ranger.

Ranger battled for the lead at a restart, and then ran a very fast pace in second place. “I’m very happy with this strong podium finish. I had a very good car and I kept pushing to keep the leader at sight. We have had good races for a few weeks, and I’m thrilled to head to Autodrome Montmagny for the last race of the season,” Ranger concluded.

Marc-Antoine Camirand had a much more difficult race, but the day had started well for the driver of the GM Paillé/Chevrolet Canada n° 96 Camaro.

Camirand scored the fastest lap in practice and was confident to carry that speed through the race. However, during his qualifying laps on a new set of tires, he felt that his car was very difficult to handle.

“My car was very loose and handling very oddly. Since the car is impounded after qualifying, we couldn’t make any adjustments. So when the race started, I struggled a lot with the car,” said the driver of the GM Paillé/Chevrolet Canada n° 96 Camaro.

Camirand went back to the pit for adjustments during a caution, and the crew made more changes to improve the handling of the car during the halfway break. “It got a bit better, but I was still not able to come back and fight with the leaders. I fought hard to climb back the field and try to get to a top-five finish. I finally scored a sixth-place finish. We were hoping for better, but in those circumstances, we will take this sixth and the good championship points,” stated Camirand.

With only one race to go, Camirand leads the NASCAR Canada series’ standings by 20 points over Kevin Lacroix. Andrew Ranger is third, just 2 points from second place.

Paillé Course//Racing drivers Andrew Ranger and Marc-Antoine Camirand will be next at Autodrome Montmagny, for the final event of the 2024 season in the NASCAR Canada series, on September 21st and 22nd.

Treyten Lapcevich scored an impressive second place at South Boston.

South Boston, North Carolina – The CARS Tour witnessed an exhilarating display of skill and determination last night during the AutosByNelson.com 280 presented at the South Boston Speedway. Treyten Lapcevich, driving the #77 Evirum/BKFC Late Model Stock Car, clinched a remarkable 2nd place finish, further solidifying his reputation as one of the series’ standout drivers. With three top two finishes in his last five races and numerous top 10 results this season, Lapcevich continues to impress on the track.

Starting from the second position, Lapcevich immediately displayed his prowess, aggressively pursuing the lead from the drop of the green flag. Despite the intense competition and relentless pressure from rivals, Lapcevich managed to maintain his position, finishing just behind the leader. Throughout the race, the defending NASCAR Canada Series champion was engaged in a thrilling battle with Ryan Millington and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series competitor Layne Riggs, much to the delight of the packed grandstands.

“All four lanes are good at South Boston Speedway, so it was very hard to pass Millington,” Lapcevich noted. “We had similar speeds, so I was constantly applying pressure, hoping he would make a mistake, but it never happened. The Chad Bryant Racing team has faced challenges here in the past with this track, but we made a lot of adjustments to the car, and it worked perfectly. The team was very pleased with those new adjustments.”

Lapcevich’s performance underscores his exceptional driving skills and strategic approach, especially given the high level of competition in the CARS Tour, which features some of the best up-and-coming talents in stock car racing.

The 2nd place finish at South Boston Speedway also enhances the Canadian driver recent streak of success and give Lapcevich and the Chad Bryant Racing team a significant boost in confidence to aim for the checkered flag for the next races. With only a few races remaining, Lapcevich and his team are poised to capitalize on their momentum.

The next zMAX CARS Tour race is set for October 12th at Tri-County Speedway, North Carolina. Fans can catch all the zMAX CARS Tour action live on FloRacing.

Steve Cote was fast but plagued by brake issues.
By: Allrem Racing
September 10, 2024

Delaware, Ontario– Drivers from NASCAR Canada Series presented by Pinty’s and Evirum gathered at Delaware Speedway in Ontario on Sunday for the Delaware 200. Allrem Racing’s Steve Côté crossed the finish line in 8th place after a tough race.

The day started strong for Côté and Allrem Racing, as the driver posted the 6th fastest time in the practice session. Impressively, he held the top spot for more than half of the session before eventually slipping down the rankings.

Qualifying saw Côté nearly clinch the pole position. Driving the #29 Evirum/BKFC Chevrolet, he secured the 3rd fastest time, a mere 0.181 seconds behind the leader.

Unfortunately, the race itself proved more challenging than expected. Right from the start, Côté struggled to maintain his third position, losing ground to Andrew Ranger and eventually dropping to 5th place.

The first half of the race was interrupted by several cautions, requiring Côté to stay vigilant while balancing competitors in front and behind. This would have been manageable if not for brake issues that surfaced just 30 laps in.

“The brakes were overheating,” Côté explained after the race. “After each restart, we could push for about 20 laps, but then we lost braking power. For three-quarters of the race, we only had rear brakes.”

“It’s frustrating because we had a very fast car,” Côté added. At one point, while battling with Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, Côté spun out but quickly recovered, making an impressive charge back through the field.

After a mid-race restart, Côté found himself in 10th place, but fought his way back up to finish in 8th.

“We’ve been plagued by bad luck all season,” said Jonathan Côté, the Allrem Racing’s crew chief. “We need to figure out this issue before Montmagny because we’re determined to end the season on a high note. On the bright side, the car was fast today, and we’ll use that momentum for the next race.”

Steve Côté will return to the track for the NASCAR Canada Series presented by Pinty’s and Evirum season finale, at Autodrome Montmagny on September 22.
