Oka, Quebec - It's a return to familiar territory for Thomas Nepveu, who will be behind the wheel of the #24 Richelieu | Home Hardware | Cromwell Ford for the upcoming NASCAR Canada race at ICAR on August 24th.
This race will be particularly significant, not only because employees and partners from Centres de Rénovation Nepveu will be heading to the ICAR Complex to cheer him on, but also because it coincides with his 20th birthday.
"It's special to have a race on my birthday," said Thomas. "I hope to get back into the Top 5; it would be a great gift for myself and my team!"
It's been a challenging season for Thomas Nepveu, who has faced misfortunes and mechanical issues. "It's evident that my NASCAR Canada season hasn’t gone as hoped," the young driver admitted. "However, I am hopeful that the ICAR race will turn out in my favor. It’s a track I love and know very well. The layout is small but fun, and it always offers action-packed races."
Last year, Thomas had a rough race, starting from the back of the field after making last-minute repairs that were not approved by NASCAR. However, he made the most of the situation, climbing up to 11th position before being forced to retire after 21 laps due to a mechanical issue.
"It will be another intense race, as most of the drivers who were entered in the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières will also be on track at ICAR." He concluded by noting; "I’m expecting a lot of on-track battles, so it will be important to have a good qualifying session to avoid having to climb through the pack."

Saint-Eustache, Quebec - The NAPA Racing team will return to ICAR to compete in the Evirum 100, a 43-lap race. Kevin Lacroix, who is currently 3rd in the championship after his retirement from the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, now sits 36 points behind the leader.
"The retirement at the GP3R weighed heavily on the points standings," said Lacroix, driver of the #74 NAPA Racing/Quick Strut car. "Marc-Antoine Camirand is now comfortably in the lead. He would need to have bad luck in all the remaining races in order for me to have a chance at the title."
Determined to win as many races as possible, Kevin Lacroix is entering this final stretch of the NASCAR Canada season. ICAR is a track he knows very well, as the Mirabel circuit is practically in his backyard.
"We frequently test at ICAR; it’s a small track that I really like," explained Lacroix. He is one of the drivers with the most victories on the tarmac of the former Mirabel airport, with four wins to his name. He was the winner in 2015, 2017, 2021, and 2022.
Last year, he was unable to finish the race due to a mechanical issue with the radiator. However, he had qualified in 5th place and had moved up to 3rd before his retirement.
He continued by stating; "It's time to get back to victory lane; I'm eager to deliver a positive win for my team."
The start of the Evirum 100 will be at 5:30 PM and will also be broadcast on the TSN+ app and FloRacing.com.

Montréal, Quebec – Steve Côté is eagerly looking forward to participating in one of the most significant races of the 2024 NASCAR Canada season, the Evirum 100, this Saturday, August 24th. He will be back behind the wheel of the #29 Allrem Racing Evirum/BKFC car to take part in this major event, in which his main partner, Evirum, is heavily involved as the title sponsor.
“This will be a highlight of the season for us,” said Côté, who secured 9th place at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières. “I’m very proud to represent a partner like Evirum that is so involved in Canadian motorsports. Evirum not only supports our on-track efforts, but their team is also present at every race to raise awareness among spectators and teams about starting an eco-responsible transition in our sport. They have a mission, and I support it 100%.”
For Steve Côté and the Allrem Racing team, this event is particularly important because the ICAR Complex is the team’s home in a way. “Our garage is located at ICAR,” he explained. “So, it’s a track I’m particularly fond of because I know it inside out. It’s our base.”
“We’ve done a lot of testing at ICAR throughout the season,” said Crew Chief Jonathan Côté. “We’ve refined our adjustments over the months, and we’re confident that we’ll be competitive this Saturday.”
The ICAR Complex is always the host of exciting and action-packed races. The practice session will be at 10:15 AM, followed by qualifying at 1:30 PM. The start of the Evirum 100 will take place at 5:30 PM for a total of 43 laps, covering 100 kilometers.
“I hope to deliver a podium finish for my partner Evirum this Saturday. The Evirum team will be on-site with several VIP guests and important clients, and I want to give them a good show on track and make them proud,” concluded Steve Côté.
Evirum, the title partner of the Evirum 100 and the official waste management and environmental solutions provider for the NASCAR Canada series presented by Evirum and Pinty’s, invites all spectators on-site to test their environmental knowledge by visiting their booth in the vendor alley at the event. Visitors can expect several surprises, including photo opportunities with athletes from the Pétroliers du Nord de Laval and BKFC.

Daytona, Florida - Complexe ICAR is set to host the NASCAR Canada series on August 24th. The airport tarmac, located in the suburbs of Montreal, will see 24 cars battle it out over the course of 43 laps in the Evirum 100.
This will be the 11th time the series visits ICAR, the first being in 2011. Despite the series racing there multiple times, only four winners have claimed victory at the venue; Robin Buck (2011), Andrew Ranger (2012, 2013, 2014, 2016), Kevin Lacroix (2015, 2017, 2021, 2022), and Marc-Antoine Camirand in the latest 2023 edition.
This year, several title contenders will take to the track, all hungry for victory. Three of the four previous winners will be racing as well; Camirand in the #96 GM Paillé Chevrolet, Andrew Ranger in the #27 GM Paillé Chevrolet, and Kevin Lacroix representing NAPA in the #74 NAPA Racing / Quick Strut Dodge.
However, several other drivers are eyeing the opportunity to claim their first win on this 2.3-kilometer circuit, including Louis-Philippe Dumoulin in the #47 WeatherTech Canada/Omnifab/Bellemare Dodge, and young contenders Alex Guénette in the #39 Casino Grand Royal Wôlinak/DLGL/GLEA Chevrolet, and Alex Labbé driving the #36 AB Express / Lussier / VR Victoriaville Chevrolet. Fresh off a second-place finish at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, Labbé was also the runner-up in last year's event at ICAR.
Veteran driver Alex Tagliani was among the frontrunners in last year's race but couldn’t convert his efforts into a victory, finishing in third place.
Steve Côté will return behind the wheel of the #29 Chevrolet, sporting Evirum and BKFC colours. Additionally, Evirum promises an extraordinary eco-friendly experience in the marketplace for spectators on-site.
D.J. Kennington needs a strong result as he currently sits fifth in the championship with 331 points. His goal will be to reach the winner’s circle with the #17 Castrol Edge/Brimstone Games/CIM Metals Dodge. He secured a fifth place result in the 60 Tours Rousseau Métal two weeks ago, earning valuable points in the process. Comparatively, Jason Hathaway missed out on scoring points in the previous round as he was involved in an accident in the streets of Trois-Rivières, where his #3 ASSA ABLOY/Accentra/Leland Industries Chevrolet ended up in the wall. Following this DNF, he will be seeking to recover every point possible in order to climb back up the standings.
Several drivers from the Montreal area will be on track, including Justin Arseneau, representing Chevrolet 440/Fibro Piscine/Volaria Airshow in the #03 Chevrolet. Simon Charbonneau, who is running a partial season, will represent TransGestion / NAPA Pièces d’autos St-Jérôme/IAI Experts-Conseil / Miller Thomson in the #88 Chevrolet. Frédérik Ladouceur will make his second start in the NASCAR Canada series, driving the #51 L’entrepôt Pièces d’Auto / Ray Junior Investments Dodge.
The day’s activities will kick off at 10:15 AM with a practice session, followed by qualifying at 1:30 PM. Fans on-site will have the opportunity to meet the NASCAR Canada drivers during the autograph session at 4:10 PM, and the green flag for the Evirum 100 will wave at 5:30 PM.
Those unable to attend in person can watch the race on the TSN+ app or on FloRacing.com.

Trois-Rivières, Quebec - Three NASCAR Canada events were on the drivers’ schedule this August. However, heavy rain forecast for the London, Ontario, area last weekend forced Delaware Speedway officials to postpone the race scheduled for last Saturday to September 8. The Complexe ICAR is therefore the upcoming event, following the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, on the series’ revised schedule. For three-time champion Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, the preparation work on the #47 WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare | Omnifab car is focused primarily on the next two road course races, at ICAR and then at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park the following week.
Dumoulin was also active last Sunday, when he went to the Toronto area for an event hosted by his main sponsor WeatherTech Canada, the Northern Performance Show & Shine. “It was really nice to meet the fans of motorsports, of NASCAR and of the WeatherTech brand.” The cancellation of the race at Delaware Speedway meant that it was a long drive for this single activity, but I appreciate this event because it allows me to keep in close contact with the fans,” he explains.
Fourth at the last Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, but with a car badly damaged by the contacts he suffered at the end of the race, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin is approaching the race at ICAR with the ambition of getting back on the podium. “It’s a small road course on concrete, and not on asphalt like the other tracks, which is very interesting and that I know well since our #47 WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare | Omnifab car was tested on this track before the start of the season,” says Louis-Philippe Dumoulin.
Currently fourth in the drivers’ championship, just 7 points behind third place, Louis-Philippe is counting on this Saturday’s race to stay among the championship leaders. “The work of rebuilding our road track car damaged at the GP3R was long. The entire Dumoulin Compétition team had to devote many hours to this work, but I am confident in the competitiveness of my equipment. I expect around thirty drivers on track at ICAR. As at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, this will pose some challenges with the traffic of the backmarkers. ICAR doesn’t have a long straight, which sometimes makes the drivers’ task complicated when there are a lot of cars on track, but it is the same for everyone and I am always very comfortable in these traffic conditions,” concludes Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, who has finished in the Top 6 in the last three editions of the NASCAR Canada race at the Complexe ICAR.
This Saturday, August 24, free practice will take place at 10 a.m. The qualifying session is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. and the race will start four hours later, at 5:30 p.m.
