Trois-Rivieres, Quebec – Jean-François Dumoulin and his #04 Groupe Bellemare | Trois-Rivières Mitsubishi | Omnifab | Bernier Crépeau Chrysler Fiat team are excited to be returning to the track, especially since the veteran driver had skipped the races presented by Pinty's in 2020 to focus on his professional commitments as a driving instructor and General Manager of Dumoulin Competition. With his historic third place finish at the 50th edition of the Trois-Rivieres Grand Prix in 2019, Jean-François Dumoulin has every intention of reaching the podium again this year.

“You can't imagine how much I'm looking forward to returning to the track!” said Jean-François Dumoulin.

“With our partners still with us after all these years, plus our family, friends and fans, Trois-Rivieres is our most important event of the season. We have optimized the #04 Groupe Bellemare | Trois-Rivières Mitsubishi | Omnifab | Bernier Crépeau Chrysler Fiat car to make it even better than in 2019 and we expect a lot from the improvements. We are coming to the Trois-Rivieres Grand Prix to fight at the front of the lead pack.”

A 60-lap Race

The 10 laps added compared to 2019 will have an impact on the race strategy and the race flow. The officials have also added a mandatory stop to ensure that everyone will have enough fuel to cover the extra race distance. Teams will also have an opportunity to change tires as per their strategy and position in the race. Drivers will also be more attentive to the management of their brakes and tires to ensure that they will still have a strong car at the end of the race and be in the lead pack with a real opportunity for victory.

Car Preparation for Louis-Philippe Montour

Since 2018, Jean-François Dumoulin has excelled in his role of managing the preparation of Dumoulin Competition cars and those rented out to other drivers. He will be very busy this weekend with Louis-Philippe Montour joining the team at the wheel of the #07 Kamloop car.

Founded in 2009, Dumoulin Competition has always had the goal of preparing top-line cars for the NASCAR Pinty's Series, and It was thus logical to bring that preparation work and manage quality in-house in 2016. Over the seasons, Dumoulin Competition has made great strides in order to better control and execute the preparation of the cars. They decided to perform the work in-house starting in 2018, and making big steps forward each season in quality of the work, reliability and competitiveness of their services. This positive development led after only three years of operation to a second Pinty's championship for Louis-Philippe Dumoulin in 2018.

Dumoulin Competition Continues to Cooperate in the Development of the Next Generation of Drivers.

On May 4, 2019, Dumoulin Competition announced its commitment to the next generation in motorsports with the “Dumoulin Compétition Partenaire de la relève” trophy, awarded annually to the champion of the Mini Sportsman Québec series. Dumoulin Competition is also a partner in the Festidrag Development program, a new-talent development initiative led by Karine Albert and Martin D'Anjou.

Kyle Steckly will bring the momentum of a pair of wins last time out at Flamboro with him.
By: Ashley McCubbin/Flamboro Speedway
August 4 2021

Millgrove, Ontario – The season of excitement continues at Flamboro Speedway with the second round of the prestigious Grisdale Triple Crown set for Saturday, August 7.

The first of those 100-lap features already took place on June 19, with the finale scheduled for October 3, with points given out by finishing position. The driver who has the most at the end of the final event will be crowned the 2021 Champion.

Treyten Lapcevich came out victorious in the first round, putting together a dominating performance as he drove away from the veterans through the later half of the event. He has since followed it up with more stellar performances, placing third in the APC Series event last month. Combined with an 11th and sixth last season, it seems the young lad is coming into his own.

Shawn Chenoweth will be hoping to stop him in his tracks, as he is looking for a bit of redemption this time around. He placed second in the first round, though only after having to rebound following a mid-race spin. Backing it up with a sixth in the APC race, he has scored no finishes outside of the top-10 in his last four appearances.

Shae Gemmell knows what it takes to win the Grisdale Triple Crown, as evident by doing so in 2019 barely over J.R. Fitzpatrick in the final standings. Coming off a solid Pinty’s Series debut on Sunday, the excitement could barely be contained in thinking about returning to Flamboro after a third in the first round this year. With two top-10’s in his last four Flamboro appearances, he’s due for a return to victory lane.

Connor James turned a lot of heads with a fourth in the first round of the Triple Crown, considering it was his first Pro Late Model start with Holdaway Motorsports. After a couple tough races on the APC Series tour, he could use a turn around with his luck this weekend.

Kevin Albers has put as many laps as anyone in the field at Flamboro, and it shined through with a fifth in the first round. He has continued the momentum, as he has not finished outside of the top-five in his last four appearances including that fifth.

Kyle Steckly knows what it takes to find victory lane now, sweeping the latest regular night of action at Flamboro Speedway with a pair of solid performances. He will hope to carry the momentum forward, after placing 10th in the first round of the triple crown.

Rick Burbridge came close to visiting victory lane a couple weeks ago, with a runner-up to Steckly.

Shane Maginnis is known for only coming out for special events, though surprised most when he placed outside of the top-five with a seventh in the first round. The veteran will hope to return to the front, after a runner-up in the second feature at Flamboro in 2020.

Jake Sheridan could use a good run, as he has been on the bad end of some bad luck recently. He finished 14th in the first round, and only rebounded for seventh in the APC Series event following a spin. After a third at FLamboro last year, there were expectations for some better performances.

Other drivers that could make an appearance are David Gallinger, Shawn McGlynn, Kyle Wood, and more. Each of these will hope to turn results that were outside of the top-10 for the first event into redemption this time around.

August 7th will also feature the Ontario Pro Challenge Series, Mini Stocks, and Pure Stocks.

With the province moving into stage three of the COVID re-opening government plan, Flamboro Speedway is allowed to host 75% capacity in the grandstands. No tickets will be sold online, but rather available at the gate on a first come, first serve basis. The spectator gates will open at 5 pm with racing kicking off at 6 pm sharp.

Tickets will be $35 for adults at the front gate, $30 for seniors 65 and older, and $5 for children ages 6-12. You can also buy a family pass for $75.00 which includes two adults and up to four children.

LP Montour will make his first NASCAR Pinty's Series start after spending most of this season in the Sports Car Championship.
By: Dumoulin Competition

First start in the NASCAR Pinty’s Series for the experienced driver

Trois-Rivieres, Quebec – Dumoulin Competition announces today that Louis-Philippe Montour will compete in next Sunday's NASCAR Pinty's Series Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres in the #07 Kamloop car prepared by the team. The Montreal native has been competing in various car racing series in Canada and the United States since he was 14 years old and has won various championships, notably in Viper-based cars and in the TransAm TA2 series.

“I have raced once at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres, in 2013, in the Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC) series in the GT class aboard a Viper. This will be my first experience in a NASCAR Pinty's. When I started racing in 2011, my first two driving instructors were Jean-Francois and Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, who taught me how to drive a race car. We always kept in touch and saw each other at local events, especially at Circuit Mont-Tremblant. Jean-Francois was my instructor at Daytona in 2018 for the TransAm final where I finished on the podium, in third place. When I decided to race in the Pinty's Series at the Grand Prix of Trois-Rivières, it was an easy decision for me to do it with Dumoulin Competition,” explained Louis-Philippe Montour.

A Great Opportunity to Build a Business Partnership

Louis-Philippe Montour represents the fourth generation working in the Montour Ltée family business, which prepares spice blends, sauces and marinades for the meat industry.

“We started a new company in 2014, Kamloop Foods, which specializes in the production of sauces and ready-to-eat meals. In fact, we supply the bagged sauces that go into Pinty's products. I've talked to Anthony Spiteri, Vice-President marketing & innovation, a few times and he was always asking me when I would be racing in NASCAR Canada. So this is it! We are going to have a great weekend, in a series that is very competitive and with the opportunity for us to promote our family businesses in a series that is supported by our major customer,” concluded the driver.

Dumoulin Competition – Car Preparation and Trackside Support

Founded in 2009, Dumoulin Competition specializes in the NASCAR Pinty's Series, providing the complete array of services required to participate and win in the series: car design and fabrication, maintenance, race preparation and trackside support, as provided to the #04 Groupe Bellemare | Trois-Rivières Mitsubishi | MIA | Bernier Crépeau Chrysler Fiat and the #47 WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare cars driven by brothers Jean-Francois and Louis-Philippe Dumoulin respectively. The Pinty's title won by Louis-Philippe Dumoulin in 2018 is testament to the efficiency and quality of the work delivered by Dumoulin Competition.

“We are delighted to build upon our relationship with Louis-Philippe Montour. He is a talented driver, and is used to racing cars with powerful engine, his preference right from the start of his career. Louis-Philippe will get the most out of the #07 Dodge we are preparing for him,” said Jean-François Dumoulin, General Manager of Dumoulin Competition.

Louis-Philippe Montour Racing Highlights

Louis-Philippe Montour has taken full advantage since his racing debut of every opportunity to discover a new track, series or car, especially if it is a powerful one, and he continues to use different driving coaches to accelerate his learning.

His track record since 2011 is proof of the effectiveness of his approach

· TransAm TA2 Southern Cup 2018 Champion
· Winner of the 2017 HSR Daytona Classic 24 at Daytona International Speedway
· 2016 Rookie of the year in the TransAm TA2 Series
· 2013 Champion in the SRT Viper Cup Championship Series, with 8 pole positions in 10 races
· 2013 Champion in the USGT-X presented by NARRA
· 3rd in the 2012 SRT Viper Cup
· 5th in his first race in a 2011 SRT Viper Cup event at Daytona aboard a Viper ACR-X.

The NASCAR Pinty’s Series 60-lap race will be flagged off at 2:18 pm on Sunday, August 15 (EDT). The race will be broadcast live on RDS2 and tape-delayed on August 22 at 1:00 pm on TSN.
