Daytona Beach, Florida – NASCAR today announced a five-year extension with Pinty’s Delicious Foods as entitlement sponsor of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series, Canada’s largest national motorsports series. Pinty’s, which took over naming rights of the series in 2016, also remains an Official Partner of NASCAR in Canada.

“Pinty’s has been a tremendous partner as we work together to grow racing in Canada,” said Chad Seigler, NASCAR Vice President, International Business Development. “Their commitment to both the racing industry and the fan experience has elevated the NASCAR Pinty’s Series over the past six years. The future is bright for NASCAR in Canada, and this continued partnership will further increase fan interest and the competition level in Canada’s premier racing series.”

This year marks a decade-long partnership between the two brands, with Pinty’s first entering the sport as a contingency partner in 2012. Throughout its NASCAR partnership, Pinty’s continues to work with several short tracks and race teams across Canada, providing needed resources that help elevate the competition on the track. Pinty’s also has naming rights to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Pinty’s Dirt Race at Bristol, scheduled to take place under the lights this weekend.

“We are thrilled to extend our partnership with NASCAR and build on our decade long relationship of Making Great Food Fun,” said Jennifer Booth, Olymel Partnerships Manager. “We look forward to continuing to offer our loyal consumers with more great tasting Pinty’s products and even more entertainment from the best stock car racing in the world.”

The 2022 season is the NASCAR Pinty’s Series’ first “traditional” season since 2019 after the COVID-19 pandemic forced abbreviated schedules in ’20 and ’21. The series will again race at some of the most iconic tracks and high-profile backdrops in Canada, including Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) during the track’s traditional Victoria Day weekend event, the streets of Toronto and the historic Grand Prix Trois Rivieres (GP3R). In addition, the series makes its long-anticipated dirt debut at Ohsweken Speedway, a race that was originally announced in ’19, as well as a just-announced trip to Eastbound Speedway as part of the Newfoundland and Labrador’s Come Home 2022 celebration, the series’ first trip to the province.

All NASCAR Pinty’s Series races will air on TSN and RDS in Canada and FloSports in the United States. Start times and complete broadcast schedules will be released at a later date.

There have been 70 races over the six seasons run as the NASCAR Pinty’s Series. During that time, 13 drivers have found Victory Lane, led by Kevin Lacroix (12). Lacroix is also the only driver to win at least one race each of those six years. Four drivers have won championships under the Pinty’s Series banner - Cayden Lapcevich (2016), Alex Labbe (2017), L.P. Dumoulin (2018, 2021) and Andrew Ranger (2019). Jason Hathaway won the Pinty’s FanCave Challenge in 2020.

Daytona Beach, Florida – NASCAR today announced that the fourth race of the 2022 NASCAR Pinty’s Series season will take place at Eastbound International Speedway and Concert Park in Avondale, Newfoundland. The Proline 225 will be run Saturday, June 25 during the province’s Come Home 2022 celebration and marks the first race for the Pinty’s Series in Newfoundland and Labrador.

The event is part of a three-year partnership between NASCAR, Eastbound International Speedway and the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation. The race will be the culmination of a series of activities for fans including autograph sessions, concerts, and a NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series race, which will be held on Friday night.

“Bringing the NASCAR Pinty’s Series to Newfoundland and Labrador is a historic milestone for NASCAR in Canada,” said Brandon Igdalsky, NASCAR Managing Director, NASCAR Touring Series. “As Canada’s largest national motorsports series, we strive to bring the exciting side-by-side racing NASCAR is known for to fans across the country. Partnering with the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation will give our fans on the eastern coast a great chance to get the full NASCAR experience.”

“This is an exciting partnership for Newfoundland and Labrador’s tourism and hospitality industries,” said the Honourable Andrew Furey, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador. “NASCAR is an international organization with a wide reach, and we look forward to inspiring fans here in our province and all over the world. “I am so proud to be hosting the NASCAR Pinty’s Series starting with the Come Home 2022 celebration,” said Patrick Squires, owner of Eastbound International Speedway and Concert Park. “To have this level of drivers in Newfoundland and Labrador is a dream come true and one of the reasons we built Eastbound International Speedway. Alex Tagliani left Flamboro with the points lead.
By: 22 Racing
September 14 2021

Milverton, Ontario – The trio of 22 Racing drivers each had high hopes for both the Motomaster Batteries 125 and Qwick Wick 125 this past Sunday at Flamboro Speedway.

Rookie-teen Treyten Lapcevich was looking to bounce back after suffering a mechanical issue during the second race of the doubleheader at CTMP last Sunday. Lapcevich wasted no time in getting up to speed at a track he’s very familiar with posting the second fastest time during Sunday morning’s qualifying session. Marc-Antoine Camirand earned fourth fastest with Alex Tagliani wrapping up the session at Flamboro in 11th.

With questionable weather in the forecast, the official NASCAR Pinty’s Series qualifying session got underway ahead of schedule. Showing a good pace, Lapcevich would snag the Pole with a new track record for the Series. Camirand and Tagliani would qualify 7th and 8th respectively.

NASCAR Pinty’s Series officials opted to move up the day’s doubleheader schedule by an hour in an effort to stave off the forecasted inclement weather.

Lapcevich would take the green flag alongside series veteran Andrew Ranger battling for each corner. The high school student from Grimsby, ON would eventually lead 15 laps before his No 20 RGC- / Qwick Wick machine came to a stop with a blown right-front tire. The Jostens Rookie of the Year contender quickly dove into the pits and returned to the track just as fast however, he’d have a long battle ahead of him to chase down Ranger. Lapcevich would rebound to ninth to earn a top-10 finish.

“Blowing a tire after sitting on pole with a new track record and leading the opening laps at Flamboro is a tough one to take. And losing the chance to redeem myself with the Qwick Wick 125 being postponed due to weather didn’t help us in the points chase.’ said Lapcevich

Tagliani, driver of No 18 Rona / Viagra / St Hubert Chevrolet Camaro who seemed to struggle though practice and qualifying appeared to have found a set up that worked. As the laps wound down, ‘TAG’ would pick and choose his moments as he marched forward through the field. A podium finish began to look possible but as a light rain began to fall, he held on take the checkers in fourth place. Tagliani maintains the championship lead by 11-points.

Expanding his points lead to 11, Tagliani is looking at the bigger picture with the final race weekend at Delaware in two weeks; “With the objective of winning the title we can’t take anything for granted.” ‘TAG’ finished second when the series last visited Delaware Speedway 2017.

The winner of last Sunday’s race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Marc-Antoine Camirand also seemed to struggle in the morning qualifying session. New to the 60-year-old Flamboro Speedway oval driver of the No 22 GM Paille Camaro, who had shown great speed in the opening round at the Sunset Speedway oval, mustered a 15th place finish in the Motomaster Batteries 125.

During the waning laps of the Motomaster Batteries 125 the forecasted inclement weather began to settle over the track with a persistent mist. As the rain intensified Series' officials put the Qwick Wick 125 in a holding pattern. After a lengthy pause the postponement of the second scheduled race of the day was officially announced. A decision has yet to be made on rescheduling the Qwick Wick 125.

All three drivers remain in top-10 in the Championship point standings with Alex leading, Lapcevich in 4th and Camirand 9th. Lapcevich continues to lead the Jostens Rookie of the Year standings and 22 Racing founder Scott Steckly continues to stay atop the 2021 NASCAR Pinty’s Series Owner Standings.

NASCAR.ca has provides live timing and scoring on Race Center and each race is live streamed on TSN.ca in Canada and NBC TrackPass in the USA. TSN and RDS2 will televise each race on tape delay.

Delaware will now be a triple header after rainouts earlier in the year at Chaudiere and Flamboro.

Championship schedule will be adjusted to 10 races after rainouts, covid restrictions

Daytona Beach, Florida – NASCAR today announced the addition of two races at Delaware Speedway to replace three races that have recently been rained out – the twin features that were set to run at Autodrome Chaudière on Aug. 29 and the second race at Flamboro Speedway scheduled for Sept. 12. As a result, the Pinty’s Series schedule will be reduced to 10 races.

The Canadian Tire 125 will take place on Friday, Sept. 24 and the Qwick Wick 125 will take place Sunday, Sept. 26 leading into the season finale, the Pinty’s Fall Brawl.

“While it is unfortunate that we’ll be unable to race at Vallée-Jonction this season, we have been proactive in maintaining contingency plans to ensure a full championship season for the NASCAR Pinty’s Series,” said Chad Seigler, NASCAR vice president, international business development. “We want to thank our partners and tremendous fans at Autodrome Chaudière and look forward to returning to the track in 2022.”

The previously scheduled Canadian Tire 150 and Budweiser 150 at Autodrome Chaudière were postponed after inclement weather. Due to covid-related guidelines in Quebec, the series was unable to reschedule those events.
